Why obama should win

This post is written at a time when the comfortable lead held by Barrack obama is been diminished because of the dirty tactics played by clinton campaign and stupid remarks made by black associates of obama, which has alienated some of his white supporters away from him. Although obama won missisipi easily, 70% of whites have voted for clinton. It should be a worrying factor for obama campaign because he kick started his campaign by winning 95% white, Iowa. It looks like Clinton will win Pennsylvania in a big margin.

There are many leaders who can change a country but there are only a few who can change the world. I firmly believe that Barrack Obama can contribute something positive to the world. I don’t think it’s just rhetoric when he tells his supporters ‘Let’s go change the WORLD’.

One thing i have noted is, although we talk about diversity gloriously we practice it poorly. I think barrack obama hit the bulls eye, when he said that the Problem of the 21st century is the problem of people who are not alike. Because of the rarely seen diverse background obama is coming from(father kenyan muslim, mother caucasian freethinker and with a half sister who is a buddhist) he would be able to see the world from a more moderate view rather than from a american view. If closely monitored, most people look at problems through only their eyes.

The world deserves a more responsible america. When america acts irresponsibly, other countries take it as a free ticket to act in the same way. It’s evident if you take the stances taken by US and china towards the Kyoto protocol. Both are using lame excuses to stop the implementation. How a US or a Chinese citizen can justify these stances?

If america could elect the black man called barrack obama as their president it could be the turning point in the history where racial and religious lines are crossed. It could lead to a Tamil president in Sri Lanka or a buddhist president in Malaysia(very unlikely at present) or who knows what. So american people are having the chance to create a new world order where unity is chosen over divide. I hope that american people will identify this oppurtunity, because i believe chances only come in once. America should be rediscovered as the land which inspired all the liberals and moderates.

  1. malli, great first blog.

  2. Kasun u r absolutely correct, when america acts irresponsibly other countries take that as a green flag to do such things themselves. The waterboarding technique and prisoner transfers as well as calling prisoners, detainees sets a very bad precedent. These methods can be and will be used by other nations to abuse human rights all over the world.
But as a firm believer in the stupidity of the american people, i would venture to say that america will not vote barack into the white house in ’08 atleast.

  3. Yeah… I agree with Kasun. The World needs a change, the best place to start that change is USA, and the best man for that job is none other than Barrack Obama.

  4. I agree with you too mcn. Obama would be a revolutionary leader for America.
This is really nice work. Keep it up.

    Hi Kasunh,

Welcome to the margin, we went to your site and read your post and we think that you overestimate the positive impact Obama would have outside of the US. We think that he will possibly improve things in the US at the expense of everyone else. If we lived in the US we would vote for him. As is we don’t want him to win. Experience in the Caribbean has shown that we do better under Republicans than Democrats and this year’s race is no exception.

Honestly saying, I’m not that much conscious about the present American political ambience. But according to my awareness of the demarches of foremost election contestants, I have a feeling that it would be congenial to have Obama gaining the day. (I highly appreciate Obamas’ equality like stand points and think that he will serve the humans in order to bring the world into superiority).

No matter who wins from this contest, he or she has to restore the American economy as it is currently breaking down unprecedentedly in front of the challenging world economy. I heard that in USA there are people about two fold of Sri Lankan population, having help from the government to carry their lives. Despite that for the operations of Afghanistan and Iraq USA is spending more than two million dollars per day. Such amount of money could have been invested for the aid of poor countries other than using it for killing people to fulfill narrow intentions. So the one who will be selected from this contest should transform the present situation not only to carry out the supremacy of USA but also to the development of whole world.

    Really Good!

  8. Obama himself is Change manifest. he represent change in his very appearance, origin and attitude. but that does not mean that any real political change has to take place. he could be just a representation to create the illusion of change because as you did mention all we have seen from the man so far is just- albeit brilliant – rhetoric.

read ‘Obama mama jama…’ on Going Global and feel free to comment.

  9. i would like to say that God bless America and Obama and the whole world.
now there is a lot that Obama has to do!!! economically as the whole world is looking at him.
    all the best to him.
